Forkast · weekly meal planning

Forkast is the meal planning app I built for my household. Pick the week's dinners, and it builds the grocery list for you, scaled to how much you're making and how many nights it needs to last.

How a week works

Screens from a demo household

This week's picks: dinner cards with photos, cook time and an Add button
Adding a meal: choose batch size, which week and how many nights
A recipe page with time, servings, protein, dairy check and ingredients
The grocery list grouped by aisle with amounts and which meal each item is for
The recipe library with search, categories and an Add a recipe button

What it does

  • Weekly picksSuggests dinners with photos each week, tuned to what your household likes.
  • Smart grocery listSet a batch size (½× to 3×) and number of nights; quantities multiply automatically.
  • Growing recipe libraryNew recipes are added every week, and members can suggest edits or send links.
  • Live syncChanges show up instantly on every phone in the household.
  • HouseholdsEach household keeps its own plan, favorites, pantry and reviews.
  • Allergen friendlyBuilt around how each household eats, with built-in dairy-free swaps for most recipes.
  • Add any recipePaste a link, snap a photo of a recipe card, or type it in; ingredients are matched to grocery items automatically.
  • Store prices & pickupSee prices from your home Kroger store, and send the whole list to a Kroger cart for pickup.

How it's built

A single-page web app on Cloudflare backed by Supabase (Postgres, auth, storage and row-level security). A weekly scheduled job adds new recipes, and open copies of the app prompt when an update is ready.

Forkast is invite-only. Tap Create an account on the sign-in screen and I'll approve you.
